Dear all,

we’re excited to announce that on coming 11 and 12 January Museum Catharijneconvent is hosting a symposium on liturgical vestments, coinciding with the exhibition Fashion for God – Reuse in religious and secular dress (on view until 21 January)

With Dutch catholic vestments as a starting point, a wide variety of papers will provide an international context of ecclesiastical vestments and practices in other European countries and also expand our views into the world of secular fashion to discover parallels in both worlds. We hope we can publish the final programme soon, but confirmed speakers are already listed on the symposium website. Tickets are on sale now.

Please save the following details:

  • Symposium theme: Reuse in Religious en Secular Dress
  • Date: 11 and 12 January 2024
  • Location: Museum Catharijneconvent, Utrecht, the Netherlands
  • Ticket price: € 115
  • Check our symposium website for updates on programme and tickets.

We look forward to seeing you there!

Best regards,

Richard de Beer and Pim Arts
