The CIETA Members are professionals in the research and preservation of historical textiles, namely museum curators, conservators, university professors and independent scholars.

If you would like to become a Member, we can offer you several options:

• Individual Membership (annual fee: 50 €) is open to all professionals who work in the research and preservation of historical textiles, and all other individuals interested in this field. Individual Members receive the periodical publications of CIETA (the CIETA Gazette and the CIETA Bulletin) and are invited to the General Assemblies and the biennial congresses of the association. They also are entitled to access the Members’ space of this website and to contribute to the blog. Furthermore, they are entitled to apply for a CIETA grant.
• Institutional Membership (annual fee: 110 €) is available to institutions (museums, universities, professional bodies, etc.) wishing to receive the periodical publications of CIETA (the CIETA Gazette and the CIETA Bulletin) and to send one or several representatives to the biennial conferences of the association. The representatives are entitled to access the Members’ space of this website and to contribute to the blog. They are also entitled to apply for a CIETA grant.
• Membership by subscription (annual fee: 65 €) is available to institutions (museums, libraries, universities, professional bodies, etc.) wishing to receive the periodical publication of CIETA (the CIETA Bulletin), but without the right to participate in CIETA meetings.

Membership by correspondence is available free of charge for institutions that cannot pay annual fees, but would like to exchange periodical or other publications with those of CIETA.

Those who would like to become Individual Members are kindly requested to add a CV and a list of publications. A letter of recommendation written by any active member of CIETA, preferably by a person acquainted with you and your activities in the field of textile research, will be a welcome addition to your application. If you would like to contact a Member of the Directing Council in order to obtain a letter of recommendation, please find a list of Members and their addresses on this CIETA web site.
Your application will be submitted to the Directing Council at its next annual meeting in September. We would be grateful to receive your documents until 31 July. As soon as a decision has been made, you will receive a letter confirming your membership and providing all necessary information. Membership will begin in January of the following year, when you will also receive an invoice for your first membership fees.
